September 25, 2025: Iowa City man arrested in grocery store by plainclothes federal agents

This disturbing article details an ICE detainment that had every appearance of an assault and kidnapping by men in plainclothes armed with holstered pistols who did not identify themselves until a minute into the scuffle, and did not present judicial warrants. In these uncertain times, Wake Forest Indivisible wants to help the people in our town understand their rights if they are approached by ICE agents.

Democracy is for everyone.

We believe in a multiracial, inclusive democracy—one where everyone has equal rights and equal power, no matter where they live or what they look like. That’s the America we’re fighting for.

We lead with hope—not fear.

Authoritarians want us to feel powerless. They rely on fear and division to keep people on the sidelines. We reject that. We believe in the power of people to change what’s possible, and we act like it.

Know Your Rights!

Wake Forest Indivisible helps organizations, businesses, and individuals understand their rights and how to protect themselves and their neighbors. Click on the images below to learn more about each organization and what they offer.
