Honoring Alex Pretti

On the morning of January 24, 2026, Alex Pretti, a 37 year old VA nurse and US citizen, was brutally and fatally shot by Federal Agents as he used his cellphone to document the agents' activities. After the agents violently shoved a bystander to the ground, Mr. Pretti approached to help her. He was then pepper-sprayed in the face at close range, tackled to the ground, restrained, and encircled by eight agents. After he was fully restrained, while they pinned him helplessly to the ground, the agents maliciously and repeatedly shot and murdered Mr. Pretti, firing at least 10 shots in a five-second period. On January 28th, Wake Forest Indivisible joined outraged voices lifted at VA hospitals across the United States in a vigil honoring Alex Pretti, a hero whose life was senselessly and unlawfully taken by Federal immigration enforcement agents.​
