Mutual Aid
Wake Forest Indivisible contributes to the well-being of marginalized people in our area, including not only Wake Forest residents, but also those nearby.
During this holiday season, we are contributing to sustain our immigrant community with food, Christmas trees, and presents for family members including warm clothing and toys for children. Going forward, we will continue to assist with food, clothing, or other needs. If you are in a position to help, please visit our sign-up sheet.
Whether you need items for your family, or want to share the abundance that you have with others, this page has links to organizations that can help.
WF Indivisible Projects and Urgent Needs
Our Indivisible group, partnering with various charitable organizations, is privileged to spotlight and support specific families, individuals, and groups, focusing on their immediate and ongoing needs to maintain safe living spaces, fight food insecurity, and provide additional goods and services to help them reach goals for financial security and show them they are treasured members of our community.
Currently, we are making Christmas warmer and happier by contributing financially to bridge the work gap created for many by the ongoing increased ICE and DHS activity in our area. Some families have had breadwinners detained. Others have avoided detention, so far, by staying away from their jobsites, in fear of these federal agencies. Missing work means missing paychecks, and families are subsequently facing eviction, going hungry, or unable to give their children a Christmas present without contributions from their community. These hard-working members of our society can make it through with a helping hand. If you want to contribute to this mission, message us using our Contact Page on this website. Thank you!
